Grand Forks Farmers Market
Where we make it, bake it and grow it!
As a member of the BC Association of Farmers Market, we follow the grow, make, bake, raise, wild harvest rules as to what our vendors can sell to our community every Tuesday and Friday, and because of this it allows our market to take part in the BC Farmer’s Market Nutrition Coupon Program. We are very proud of this endeavor as it was very well received by the individuals and farmers who participated.
Much of the funding for the program is through the Province and Columbia Basin Trust. Grand Forks Farmers’ Market was very grateful this year to also have local funding from the City of Grand Forks, the Phoenix Foundation, Sharon Gibbs of RDKB Area E and Grace McGregor of RDKB Area C. With this local funding we are able to help many more clients’ access great local food. This program also helps build and support local farmers and secure our local Food System.
This program is administered by the Boundary Community Food Bank and the Boundary Family Services Society. Each participant receives $27 a week in coupons during the period June to September and the coupons can be used to purchase vegetables, fruits, eggs, herbs, meat, honey and vegetable plants.

To receive these coupons, please reach out directly to the foodbank (boundaryfoodbank@gmail.com) or the Boundary Family Services Society (for families with young children).
According to one recipient:
This program has helped my kids and I get through a difficult time...without it I would not have been able to feed my children properly. I hope this program continues so that more struggling families can take part.”
The Boundary Community Food Bank said:
“All our clients who used the program stated they were “very happy” and hoped this program would continue next year!”
